Nature Junk Journals

This year I have enjoyed making a lot of nature junk journals and designs since the early Spring is a tricky time seasonally!

I’m from New York and while Spring has technically arrived, the weather has left a lot to be desired.

When this time of year roles around I think of books like The Secret Garden.

Where the story line tells of how everything begins to bloom, birds begin to sing, and warmth is in the air.

Well…here this year, it’s been raining for what seems like 40 days and nights.

New York even experienced an earthquake (which is very rare!) and a solar eclipse recently.

So all that to say, creating nature inspired junk journals has helped me see the hope in the weather’s future.

Nature Themed Crafting Materials

If you have seen any of my Journal with Me videos on Youtube, or pins on Pinterest, you may have caught on to the overall nature theme I tend to stick to.

I must admit it was never really intentional until recently.

I’ve just been drawn to that type of art and creating these junk journal / scrapbook type pages in my notebooks.

It’s fun to flip through the pages over time too, to see the change in designs or style through out the year.

Some paper crafting materials I enjoy using for nature junk journals are:

Nature Journal with Me Videos

When creating junk journals, it should simply be a fun process to get creative!

Don’t feel the need to stick to certain patterns or structure.

Maybe put on some calming music, nature ambience on youtube, or listen to sounds outside.

In my journal videos I tend to use Lofi music from Epidemic Sound
