A lot of my content is about family history research but I also share some articles and videos about the importance of journaling.
Genealogy and journaling topics are different but at the same time they are connected
Just think about it for a moment. Would history information ever be available to learn from if no one ever recorded it?
Whether it be small snippets of facts, or long detailed explanations, it saves important details.
The information available can then be built off of for understanding the bigger picture of the situation or event.
Journaling comes in many forms, and it is as creative as a person would like it to be. There is not just one way to write in a notebook.

Bullet Journaling
I enjoy having a bullet journal for personal use. (It’s not one I show on camera in my videos.)
The bullet journal I use more for diary entries about little things going on in my life.
I’ve done this type of writing since I was a child, with a Lisa Frank Diary!
And it’s always fun to look back at all my notebooks for nostalgia and happy memories.

Occasionally I also use my bullet journal when I am in a stressful situation or anxious about something.
I don’t necessarily address the issue bothering me, but it’s a nice distraction to decorate it with stickers or stencil drawings.
A lot of times I set up pages for things to look forward to in the future. (holidays, video game launches, special occasions)
Weather is another thing I like to track in my journal! Every night I write the date, time, temperature, and the overall weather for that day.
It’s just a routine and mini way to record history.

Where as the notebooks you see in my YouTube videos are more like scrapbooks, or the modern phrase, “junk journal.”
The junk journals tend to be more creative and involve craft paper and mementos, versus hand written entries.
Crafting can be a fun way to show self expression and share creativity with others!
Creating my YouTube videos is a fun process and I always love to see what friends make!
Sure to outsiders watching junk journal videos it may seem like just scraps of paper and glue, but to the person creating it, the pages have value and tell a personal story.
A travelers notebook is also helpful for carrying pages with you anywhere you go.
And someday, all the journals we each have collected over the years will be sentimental family treasures to show a glimpse into our lives at various moments in time.

Thank you!
I have journaled since I was in middle school. I tried bullet journaling but as much as my mind is creative, my hands aren’t artistically creative. Great post!
That’s great! I’m not good at drawing either, so I use stencils haha
I do journaling sometimes but then after some time, I forget what was my idea when I was journaling. It’s a relaxing activity and calms down the mind for me. Thanks for sharing this useful post! I love your videos as well!
I agree, journaling is such a calming activity! Thanks so much for reading and watching!

Journaling can be the ultimate stress and anxiety buster. Good move on your part because moving fear from mind to paper or laptop purges the thoughts.

I always start and quit. Great time to try again! Thanks for the post.

I love journaling. I’ve been keeping one (now on my second) for my daughter since she was 9 months old (she’s 13 now). I’m hoping she enjoys hearing about her life from my perspective.
That is beautiful! What a wonderful idea! Thanks for reading!
I totally agree. I really think that journaling is good for our wellbeing. Thanks for sharing!
Absolutely! It is such a fun, relaxing activity! Thanks for reading!
I love my bullet journals. I’m the same as you I first started with Lisa Frank myself. I’ve currently got a mood journal, a bullet journal of quotes, and an everyday journal. They’re so much fun to keep.
Wow, small world! I still have mine saved with other notebooks! That is great, I keep a variety of journals too. Thanks for reading!
