Hi Friends!
I’d like to share a little bit more personal content so I thought a good way to start that would be with a seasonal recap!
I hope you had a great Summer with lots of fun, special memories!
I had a busy couple of months but there was excitement at the same time!
Annual Trip to Maine
So every year when I was growing up I would take a trip to Maine with my grandmother to visit some family. We weren’t able to go for quite a few years but in 2021 I started the tradition again, for the first time as an adult.
At the end of June I drove from New York to Maine with my mom and sister to enjoy a week long vacation! The weather wasn’t great but we still tried our best to have fun and create new memories.
On one of the rainiest days we drove around finding various lighthouses that we had never seen before.
For some of the days of our trip was what’s called “windjammer days” I especially loved the vintage boat parade!
On the 4th of July we attended a local parade and saw fireworks that night from our resort.
Summer Day Trips
Through out the summer I did some other day trips. I’m not a big traveler so I love local experiences.
Sturbridge Village, MA
I went to Old Sturbridge Village as a stopping point on my way to Maine. If you aren’t familiar with what that is, it’s a historical indoor/outdoor New England themed museum.
To read more about Old Sturbridge Village here is a blog article and journaling youtube video I created:
Legoland, NY
This was my second time visiting Legoland, New York and I recommend it for families with children but it is also cool to see with teen aged kids and as an adult.
The rides are more designed for young kids but seeing the Lego structures and architecture is still an amazing experience.
There are also souvenir shops, restaurants, and a “Big Shop” for all sorts of Lego merchandise.
New Jersey Botanical Gardens
If you are looking for a relaxing day trip in a beautiful, peaceful location the New Jersey Botanical Gardens is perfect for a Summer, Fall, or Spring visit!
My husband and I went here one of the days after our wedding and it was such a nice place to just walk through and enjoy time together.
It reminded me of the book The Secret Garden but also a bit like Alice in Wonderland.
(The New York Botanical Gardens is also amazing but I didn’t get a chance to go this Summer.)
Wedding Planning & Celebration
So of course the biggest excitement and absolute joy of the Summer 2023 season was marrying my best friend.
We had an absolutely beautiful weather day and an amazing time.
My husband and I had such a great experience at our venue and a fun, special time celebrating with our family.
If you live in the NY/NJ area and would like any recommendations for wedding options, please email me or message me on Pinterest! I’d be happy to share privately!
Summer Recap Conclusion
Summer 2023 was very busy for me but I also was able to create wonderful memories with my family, work full time, and also spend time on my RLS Photogenic business.
I am excited to see what the Fall season has in store for the future!
Feel free to comment below your favorite summer moments! I would love to hear all about it!
