I first started my blog in August 2022, over time also explored making YouTube videos, running an Etsy shop, and a weekly email letter. andddd daily posting on Pinterest.
It all went great and structured on schedule for a long time.
But then, life happened.
In wonderful ways but my small business went by the waist side and got neglected in the past.
Viewers still came across my archived content but I wasn’t engaged like I normally was previously.
I’ve been wanting to write a new blog article for awhile now but wasn’t sure where to start.
So now, I’m just typing to start fresh.
What’s been going on?
What a question, so. many. things!
The whirlwind truly began on February 9th, Superbowl Sunday. Not that I’m a sports person by any means, but that was the day.
New York was getting a snow storm and my husband had to get a hotel room near his job the night before as roads were not safe.
So I was alone and began questioning how I was feeling, or more so had an intuition.
Well, that morning, at 11:53am to be exact, and then again at 12:32pm, I took a pregnancy test.
and it was positive!!
I kept the secret all day to myself to process until telling my husband later that night when he got home from work.
With all this excitement we were also preparing to move out of our apartment and temporarily in with my in-laws while we waited for renovations at our future house.
On top of all that, the morning sickness and nausea hit fast. I was honestly not prepared for how quickly those symptoms would hit. and it made moving all the more challenging and emotional.
But alas I survived! and it is thankfully in the past.
At the time of writing this I just reached the 3rd trimester of pregnancy, with a due date for baby boy of October!

Leaving My Corporate Job
With the pregnancy challenges and other factors, I made the huge leap of resigning from my corporate job of 7 years.
This was all part of our plan in the making but then it actually happened.
We discussed it many times, prepared financially, and figured out all the other adulting changes like health insurance (fun stuff…. anyway…)
It’s been some time now and I still occasionally forget I’m not just on a long vacation, and don’t have to go back.
I will admit there were days I felt very lost.
My “old” life was gone on so many levels and a new one was on the way but we were very much in the in-between.
And for certain things still are but it’s a very exciting time in our lives as we prepare for baby’s arrival and adjusting to a new routine.
Small Business Plans
With everything involved in pregnancy, living in someone else’s house, and renovating a home – my small business really got neglected.
I’ve tried to continue to post on Pinterest, and add new items to Etsy when I can.
But I have not filmed a single Youtube video as all my journaling craft supplies are admittedly still boxed up.
And for my blog and email list, I really didn’t even know how to begin again.
So this is me starting a new!
I wish I could say I have a plan but I really don’t.
For now my goal is to try my best to create and share new content on my blog, and Youtube will eventually follow again (…someday…I hope….!)
Thank you!
If you are a long time reader, thank you so much for sticking around during my absence!
If you are new here and maybe this is even the very first article you’ve read – Welcome! I’m so glad you are here and I hope to do better at sharing new content for you to enjoy regularly!
I will be making some changes and adding more personal content than I did previously and I’m very excited for that transition.
Previously I only posted specifically about genealogy (family history research) and creative journaling ideas.
Okay okay I will wrap this up now!
Thank you again for reading, please be sure to comment below to say Hi! I’d love to chat with you further!
Sincerely,
Rebekka
