On Friday I posted a new video on YouTube with a floral theme journal page (watch here)!
Some of the images I used may look like just scraps of paper to a viewer but they have meaning to me.
Many of the elements I used came from people in my life and special experiences.
I bought the flower stickers at Michael’s Crafts Store when my fiancé a I had some time to shop together, and the vintage card stock came from his Aunt as a Christmas gift.
The washi tape was given to me by my sister, and the flower photographs were in a seed catalog I found from my grandfather’s collections after he passed.
My overall love of crafting also comes from my mom!

Why Floral?
This design really all began because I wanted to find a way to use the flower photograph images from the catalogs I found at my grandparent’s house.
I loved the bright colors and pictures of flowers. Some I recognized and some were new to me.
My grandfather must have saved those seed books for a reason, so I’m glad to enjoy them now too.
Getting new plants and gardening brings me great comfort since he passed and with this notebook, I can look at these plant varieties all year around.

Why I Make Journal Pages
So many little details that went in to this journal page were tied back to the people I love and moments connected to them.
This is why I enjoy creating journal pages and videos. It saves all these memories in a creative way instead of just being scraps of paper.
The reason I record these videos is to share them with you and maybe provide some inspiration.
I know there’s tons of ‘journal with me’ videos out there that have far more elaborate and detailed pages. But everyone has a different style and purpose.
For now I prefer to include music for a calming environment for viewers to be creative.
I encourage you to look around your home and see what you can craft together.
It will be fun and doesn’t have to be perfect!

Funny Moments
One day I may create a bloopers reel of all the times I cut a page wrong or a sticker doesn’t cooperate for pealing!
One time I put hand lotion on before filming. I don’t know what I was thinking!
When I went to clasp a clip at the top of the notebook and it slipped, anddd went flying across the table…. I couldn’t stop laughing when I watched it back later on!
Anyway, back to the point LOL
Your Journal Pages
These books will someday be nostalgic ways to look back on the past. And share with your children or grandchildren. (and hopefully even a future genealogist in the family!)
If you do decide to journal or craft while watching one of my videos, I would love to see what you create! Send me a note on pinterest, youtube, (RLSPhotogenic) or email Rebekka@RLSPhotogenic.com
