Hi Friends, this article will be a little bit different from normal as I share an open discussion about the blogging topics that I write about.
I began this website in August of 2022 as a hobby after the loss of a loved one.
Since then I have teetered on the line between passion project and small business goals.
I’ve changed up what I write about here and there but after awhile I seemed to narrow down a main focus.
So the topics I mostly focus on are Journaling and Family Tree Research tips.
Sometimes I’ve wondered if this makes sense to readers but I really do try to tie both topics together.
While the research tips are more factual and tutorial based, the journaling posts are more creative and meant as a means to save personal history along the way.
I don’t often directly state that, but that is my hope with the content I create and share.

Behind the Blog Research
Besides writing articles, creating videos, and designing Etsy printables, I do put time in to researching the analytics behind my blog.
In simpler terms, this is the information collected online to help me see what content is popular.
I have found an interesting trend that google search wise, my genealogy articles do better.
But on social media platforms like Pinterest, viewers click through to read more of the journaling content.
For my Etsy shop, the few sales I have made so far were all from the genealogy (family tree) templates.
That may simply be because there are far less resources on Etsy for genealogy, where as there is a ton of journaling products, but that’s a whole other topic.
From looking at all the statistics it does give me hope that both topics are prevalent and have an audience seeking out the information.
While this is more of just a side project for me, any income I receive from ad clicks or Etsy sales does help tremendously.
A lot of time is put in to content creation, which is absolutely fun!
But unfortunately there are fees involved in running a website, so I appreciate any and all support from readers.
It is also great connecting with people that share similar interests.
We can all learn from one another and be creative at the same time.
Why Am I Writing About my Blogging Topics?
Well, the answer to this question is because at times I admit I do feel a little lost in my content.
And never quite know if readers/followers understand what I’m trying to share in combining genealogy and journaling.
So what better way to address it than just write about it!
I think without directly focusing on, we all know journaling is a form of saving memories.
Messages and notes on a page preserving a period of time.
So why not take it a step further and learn about more of the past and the ancestors who came before us.
Chances are, they journaled or scrapbooked as well to save their memories to share with us.
